International Snowkite Open 2017, Italy

On the first February weekend the 2017 Snowkite Open took place at Lake Resia, Italy.

The riders had to face difficult wind and weather conditions during the whole weekend. Fog was a huge problem as well as light winds. The LIBRE team riders Kolja, Bernd and Jörg started in the long distance race. 80 kilometers race distance were originally planned. However, little wind and fog during the races forced the race administration to shorten the distance down to 60 kilometers.

Kolja, Bernd and Jörg got into the races on their 15 m and 11 m Radical 3 proto-types.

In the end Bernd came in 2nd in the German ranking. With lots of effort Kolja won the German ranking on top of the podium.

In the international ranking Jörg landed on the 7th place.

Swiss Snowkite Tour 2016/2017 France

From 28th to 29th January the 3rd tour stop of the Swiss Snowkite Tour took place in Les Rousses, France. As the wind forecast was pretty lousy, a lot of riders decided not to travel to the event. In the end there were only 14 competitors. As predicted there was no wind on Saturday. Nevertheless, Sunday around noon the wind picked up a little an the first race happened in the afternoon.
Bernd, Kolja and Jörg started on their Radical 3 prototypes.
In the end Kolja won the event, followed by Bernd on 2nd and Jörg on 3rd position. All the podiums therefore were taken by our team!!!

Libre International: A report from our Teamrider Anthony Cottard

The kitebuggy's European Championship 2016 occured on the last august 22-26th, on the beach of La Franqui.

Eurocup Texel
Saturday, 2 July, 2016

On the 2nd and 3rd of July the Eurocup took place on the dutch island of Texel. Our Zebra pilot Vincent started on his Zebras and scored good results.

On Sunday there was less wind and Vincent switched to LIBRE Radical III. He managed to finish 2nd. The wind picked up again a little and Vincent switched to Radical III 11m proto and finished 2nd.

Overall Vincent finished the Buggy Cup on the 2nd place and made clear that the new Radical III has great potential!

KLB Championships – First tour stop Schillig

On the 1st to 3rd July the first tour stop of the German KLB tour took place in Schillig.

LIBRE team rider Kolja Löwen started the first races with the LIBRE Revolt Ultra 11m. The wind was gusty and brought tricky situations and Kolja had some troubles on the first day. On Sunday it was sunny but still the conditions were not perfect due to gusty winds. Kolja finished on the 4th place overall.

Long distance race in Les Hemmes, France

LIBRE team rider Guntram participated in the 8 hour long distance race right on the French top buggy spot Les Hemmes. Guntram started with LIBRE Radical III in 13m and 15m. Due to less wind in the last phase of the race, the French locals managed to took the lead. Guntram was happy on the 2nd place overall and had great chances to test the Radical III in different conditions. He was very happy with the performance of the kite.

2. Tour stop Swiss Snowkite Tour (Bernina)

The second tour stop took place at Lago Bianco, Bernina from 2nd to 3rd of January.

The races of the first day had to be cancelled due to no wind. The second day races were very exciting and the pilots fighted hard. In the end Kolja came in 3rd on Zebra Revolt 16 m². Bernd had a very good day on his Radical 2, 11m² and was able to finish 2nd. Jörg, as well with Radical 2, 11m² ranked 4th.

1. Stop Swiss Snowkite Tour 2016

Locates on the Glacier 3000, the first stop of the Swiss Snowkite Tour 2016 took place from the 19 to 20 December. Conditions were perfect with lots of sun and heaps of snow.

Bernd Spiering and Jörg Lammerskitten started on snowboards and both with the Radical 2, 18m². Kolja Löwen participated with the Zebra Revolt 16m².

After some struggle during the races the LIBRE team had success after all. Kolja came in 2nd overall, followed by Bernd. Only one point seperated Jörg from a podium position.

KLBB European Tour 2015
Sunday, 25 October, 2015

At the first tour stop in Berck, France (12-14 June) Kolja Löwen, on Zebra Revolt 16 m² came in 3rd in the category race.

The next tour stop took place in Berlin (1-3 October). Due to a crash with another race pilot, Kolja was thrown back on rank 6.

European Championships De Panne 18.9.2015

Simon Cottard made clear that the Spirit 2 is nothing but a high-performance kite to count on. Ranked on the 3rd place overall Simon was the most successful handle-kite pilot participating in the European Chammpionships. Congratulations!
